Races of our World

Elves:
High: Immortal; Light of skin and hair. Usually tall and thin.
(Ancient and wise looking, they often inspire feelings of beauty and creativity. Magic is common place among them. They very rarely leave there homes, for human lives are short and often times cause great trouble. They are also slightly stuck up and so prefer their own company.)

Dark: Creatures of the night and underground. Dark of nature and coloring.
(Shadow and questionable magical practice is common, slavery is legal in this culture. The live in giant underground cities.)

Wood: Non-Immortal Elves. The majority of elven society. Max age of 3,000. Usually live in villages or wooded areas, thus the name
(Nature Magic is common, these are usually the elves with the 'travel' bug.)

Halfbreeds: Humanoid animals, the amount of human vs animal varies according to character.
(These creatures have a unique druidic bind with nature, but have no magic abilities. They heal quickly, can hide easily, and indeed speak to some animals or plants as the case may be.)

Humans Can be from cold hard climates, easy temperate ones, or a Desert.
(Can learn some magics, advance users are usually part elven. War is common, generals are respected but challenged often. Leading t a lack of people having time to send of for kids schooling, or money to do so.)

Avarean vain beautiful creatures with wings protruding from there shoulder blades.
(Adept at all forms of light magic. They live high in the mountain tops, in homes so beautiful a human might think they'd been grown into the mountain tops, rather than built there. Tend to stick to their own kind, travelers are limited among them.)

Elves

High Elves:

One of the elder races of the Planet, they have witnessed the rise and fall of nations and cultures, races and people. Immortality has taken it's toll on their society, gearing them away from populating, and toward scholarly pursuit. Magic is common place among them, and it is said you will never find a dumb High Elf, or a humble one.

It is said among them that they were created by the Goddess Lanaeru as creatures to worship and serve her in the days of the Pantheon. She granted them immortality in return for there service, and they followed her. To this day she is the patron Goddess among them, along with a few other lessers.

All High Elves are lead by a Queen and King, and there family. Nobility is linked to the royal family by blood ties, usually in the far past. They range in hair colors from white, to blond, to red, to silver or blueish in lightness. They tend to have golden to warm skin tones, and eyes of blue, purple, pink, or green. Usually six feet four inches to six feet eleven inches tall.

Dark Elves

Born of the High Elves, this race was started by a banished group of occult magic practitioners many generations ago, near the time of the Human's birth. Their families, followers, and even estates full of servants were turned below the surface of the planet, forever denied the beauty of dawn's light.

In darkness they built a civilization and city, eventually growing to encompass two cities connected by long subterranean tunnels. They are lead by a coven of eight High Priestesses ruling on the word of Nyses, the Goddess of Darkness and Shyato, the Goddess of the Arts. There is no nobility; only those with enough power to secure themselves large homes and amounts of money. Usually the powerful are Witches or Sorcerers, but the rare skilled general has been known to rise as well.

Most dark elves are dark of skin, and there eyes are usually red, black, light green, orange, or yellow. They have hair in colors of white, red, black, dark brown, grey. Usually six feet five inches to six feet ten inches tall.

Wood Elves

When the Goddess created the elves, it is said some denied her at birth, and those she would not turn into her slaves. So instead she removed her gift of immortality, and the elves found a new God to serve, Nieru God of Earth. In there dedication to him, the elves lost the ability to wield many of the Goddess' spells of Air and Mind magic, there abilities to cultivate and commune with the earth grew.

Druids are common among them, along with shapeshifters and Elemental Magi. They live in forests, the Eastern Grove being the older and base of power for the Race. They are lead by two factions, the Druids and the Priestesses of Nieru. Nobility does not exist as traditional social structures don't apply. No one is a slacker or doesn't now how to survive in the wood; they learn it from birth. No one lives better than anyone else, as they all contribute to there society and home building, tree-crafting.


These elves usually have brown of some variation for hair color, and brown, blue, or green eyes. They are anywhere from 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall. They have a maximum life span of 3,000 years.

HalfBreeds

"Why do we call them Halfbreeds? We call them that because of how they were made Ashuenda..." It is true, the half breed race was created by the High Elves, and because of them magic dealing with the combining of living creatures has been outlawed. Animals were melded with the forms of dieing people. Some human, some elven, others a mix of both. Giving control of the conscious mind to the human, but giving the animals memories, experiences, and even body parts to the form as the animal's life force was sacrificed.

The people all healed rapidly, much quicker than should have been possible. The Magi among them, lost there ability to cast spells, as did all others. Theonce-powerful magic users ran from the magi they had once cherished in the High Elves, and created a city where it is outlawed to use magic. Now, many years have passed and it has grown to a hatred by the populace for magic users within there hold.

The remainder of the race took up residence near the High Elves, choosing to guard them and live near them in return for the gift of there lives. These bred, and there magical changes carried through, women having litters of children, all differently melded with the animal of their father or mother. Always one or the other, never both.

The race has grown in the past few millennia and is now considered nearly as numerous as Humans, although they have a strange aversion to cities. Most tight places, or confined surroundings bother the animal in them. Instincts have to be learned to control, it isn't easy combining an animals will power and mind with that of a human flawlessly.

Most halfbreeds live to an age of 60-140 years old. They are varied in height and size according to there animal counter part. Most live in large open styled housing, with lounging areas and many gardens or ponds. They are lead by a council of Three, the most honorable and worthy people were elected to the seats, and they rule as leaders for life, unless dismissed from office (killed).
